Four checks between a draft and your client's bank.

The invoice is the easy part. What a firm answers for is who approved it, where the money was sent and whether it arrived.

Questions a partner asks first.

Who can send an invoice?

Only someone you have allowed to. An invoice waits in draft until a second person approves it, and the preparer cannot be that second person.

Can I keep client money apart from our fees?

Yes. Each payment request names the account it is paid into, so client money and the firm's fees are requested into different accounts.

What happens when a client pays the wrong amount?

The bank line is marked short or unmatched and stays open. Nothing is closed off until someone at the firm looks at it.

Can I see who changed an invoice?

Every invoice keeps a history of each change, with the person and the time, from the first draft to the payment.

Bring one month of your invoices. We will run them through Ledgerly with you.
