A record label · Kathmandu · UTC+5:45
Nothing before midnight.
We release only music recorded after 00:00 Nepal time. The tape rolls at midnight and stops at first light. Everything else goes back.
01 — The rule
One rule. The tape rolls at 00:00 Nepal time and stops at first light over the valley. Anything recorded before midnight, however good, goes back to the artist.
The clock is the A&R.
We do not pick a sound. We pick an hour. What people play when the city has stopped asking anything of them is the only brief.
The window is whatever the sky gives.
It closes at civil dawn, which moves through the year. Winter nights are long. June nights are short and the records are shorter.
The timestamp is the proof.
Session files keep their clock. We read the creation time against Nepal Standard Time, UTC+5:45. No timestamp, no release.
02 — Tonight's window
Twenty-four hours. We use the dark ones.
The band is tonight's recording window in Kathmandu, from midnight to civil dawn, computed for 27.72° N, 85.32° E. The marker is now.

03 — Why midnight
The city has a second voice, and it only speaks after twelve.
By midnight the generators have cut out and the last bus has climbed out of Ratna Park. What is left is the valley itself: dogs trading calls across the rooftops, a bell somewhere in Patan, a tap filling a bucket, the hum of a city that is finally not trying to be heard.
Musicians play differently inside that quiet. Slower, closer to the microphone, more willing to leave a mistake in. We built a label around that difference instead of around a genre.
So the catalogue has no sound in common. It has an hour in common.
04 — Sleeves
One sleeve for each hour of the window.
Every release is sleeved by the hour it was recorded, not by the artist. The artwork is the sky over Kathmandu at that hour, drawn in your browser, never the same twice.
05 — Submit
Send us the night.
- 1
Record between 00:00 and civil dawn, Nepal time. Anywhere in the valley counts. The clock does not care which room.
- 2
Keep the raw session files. Do not re-export them; the original creation time is what we check.
- 3
Submissions are only open while the window is open. If the button below is sleeping, so are we.
Submission desk
Reading the clock in Kathmandu.
Bring the raw files and their timestamps to the desk before first light. We listen at dawn and reply the same night.
