• 01How much soil does one bag actually cover?

  One 40-litre bag fills a 60 × 40 × 17 cm raised bed, or tops up roughly 2 m² of border to a depth of 2 cm.

  Most subscribers on the Balcony plan use two bags a season; the Allotment plan sends six.

  Sizing

• 02When do deliveries go out, and can I pause them?

  Bags leave the yard every second Tuesday and arrive within three working days. You can pause for up to 90 days from your account; the next bag simply shifts.

  "We don't ship in a frost. The soil is happier and so is the courier."

• 03What is in the mix?

  Composted bark 40%, green-waste compost 30%, coir 20%, worm castings 10%. No peat. pH 6.4, tested every batch, and the batch number is printed on the seam of every bag.

• 04A bag arrived torn. What now?

  Keep it — it is still good soil. Send a photo from your orders page and we add a replacement bag to your next delivery at no charge. No form, no returns.

  Delivery

• 05Can I change plan mid-season?

  Yes. Moving from Balcony (£14/month) to Allotment (£32/month) takes effect on the next Tuesday run; moving down is prorated to the day.

• 06Do you deliver outside the mainland?

  Not yet. Islands and Northern Ireland are on the list for spring 2027; leave your postcode on the waitlist and we write when the route opens.
