Climb to Hollin Edge
The steep part: 310 m in a little over a kilometre on pitched stone. Rest at the sheepfold halfway; the view opens to the west.

Along the ridge to Cold Knott
Three easy kilometres on the crest. In cloud, follow the old fence posts; the cairn at Cold Knott is the highest point at 752 m.

Down by Seavy Tarn
Drop south on grassy zigzags to the tarn, then the lane back to Thrushfold. The Drovers Rest serves food until 20:30.
