Weather Studies

Twenty-six gouaches Agnes Ruoho painted on the northern coast between 1962 and 1971, most of them in under an hour, most of them outdoors.

The hang follows her notebooks: low cloud first, then the fields, then the harbour in winter.

The harbour years, 1968 to 1971

Ruoho painted from a rented net loft on the east pier. The windows faced north, so her light never changed, only the weather in it.
